Jews in Irish Literature
Representation of Jews in Irish Literature is a landmark project between Ulster University and the National University of Ireland, Galway. It examines the portrayal of Jewishness through an exhibition of publications which include a selection of key Irish-Jewish writing and Irish literature about Jews. Adopting a thematic and chronological approach, it investigates the depiction of Jews and Jewishness in Ireland from the Annals of Inisfallen in the medieval period, through centuries of poetry, prose and drama to the present day. The Irish Literary Society is engaging with writers and academics to reflect on ‘Representations of Jews in Irish Literature’. Lithuanian Poetry Tour – Ireland
I will be reading with Lithuanian poets Rimas Uzgiris, Ilze Butkute and Mindaugas Valiukas on May 19th in VISUAL Carlow along with Derek Coyle (poetry) and Colm Broderick (uileann pipes). This is the first time I will be reading by poems to a Lithuanian group, which will include the Lithuanian ambassador to Ireland.
