I had the honour to be asked to launch Carlow Town’s writing festival, Penfest, this year. As I’ve no book under my belt, I really didn’t know what I could share with the people who showed up to the event. I decided I would tell them about my own poetry journey and share some ideas about what works for me as a writer. As much as I feel I didn’t deserve to be up there, I really enjoyed the experience. There were a number of new writers in the audience so hopefully I haven’t completely put them off writing.
