The Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas took place this weekend and we went along on the Sunday, which for the 4th year in a row was sunny and dry. It This year it incorporated the History Festival of Ireland so there was a lot more history and a lot less literature. However, many of the big names were all there. I was a little bit disappointed that there was no poets in the mix. The closest I could get to that was through Michael Harding and AC Grayling who after a bit of a false start talked a bit about religion and philosophy. The discussion did end with a poem when AC Grayling quoted Du Fu, an ancient Chinese poet so at least there was that!
