New Year, New Writing

2016 is going to be a very exiting year for me. My first collection Jewtown is going to be published by Doire Press and I’m hoping to be busy going around the country doing readings and seeing parts of Ireland that I may not have visited before. While I’m going to be busy doing all that, I have to start thinking about writing some new stuff. Jewtown has taken around 4 years to write and it’s going to be weird not to have the fantastic scaffold to work from when creating new work.

I have written a number of poems that aren’t related to Jewtown, of course, and it might be worth seeing what sort of shape is on them, if any, to see if there’s a direction they might take. However, I think before all that happens, there’s going to be a lot of editing and a lot of hard graft taking place.

I’m looking forward to some of the upcoming festivities, including the International Cork Spring Poetry Festival. I’m hoping to catch a number of the excellent poets on show and maybe having a sneaky visit to the Jewtown area in the city to see it with new eyes!
